Journal Entry

A journal entry in accounting is a record of a financial transaction in a company's books. It details the accounts that are affected by the transaction, the amounts to be debited and credited, and a brief description of the transaction. Journal entries are the first step in the accounting cycle and are essential for keeping accurate and complete financial records.

Journal Entry in Tally Prime

1. Go to the “Gateway of Tally.” Click on the “ Vouchers” section. Or use the keyboard shortcut “Alt+V.”
2. Select “F7: Journal” on the Button Bar. Or simply press the F7 key.
