Baseline Command in AutoCAD

The baseline command in AutoCAD is used to create a series of dimensions that are aligned to a common baseline or starting point. This command is helpful when you need to dimension multiple objects from the same reference point, ensuring that all dimensions are consistent and aligned to a single baseline.

To use the baseline command:

  1. Type DIMBASELINE in the command line or select the "Baseline" dimension tool from the ribbon.
  2. Pick the starting point for the baseline dimension (this will be the reference point for all subsequent dimensions).
  3. Select the objects or points you want to dimension from the baseline.
  4. Place the dimension and continue adding additional dimensions from the baseline as needed.

The baseline command ensures that all dimensions in a series are consistent, helping to create more organized and accurate drawings.
