Chamfer Command in AutoCAD


The chamfer command in AutoCAD is used to create a beveled edge by connecting two objects with a straight line. This command is often used to replace sharp corners with an angled edge.

To use the chamfer command:

  1. Type CHA or CHAMFER in the command line.
  2. Specify the chamfer distances or angle:
    • Type D to set the first and second chamfer distances.
    • Or type A to set the chamfer angle and base distance.
  3. Select the first object.
  4. Select the second object.
  5. The two objects will be connected by a straight line with the specified chamfer dimensions.

This command is useful for creating angled edges for design or functional purposes in drawings.
