Linear Command in AutoCAD

The linear command in AutoCAD is used to create a linear dimension between two points, typically measuring the distance between two endpoints or along a straight line. This command is part of the dimensioning tools and is essential for providing precise distance measurements in a drawing.

To use the linear command:

  1. Type DIMLINEAR or select the linear dimension tool from the dimension toolbar.
  2. Click to select the two points between which you want to measure the distance.
  3. Place the dimension line at the desired location, specifying the location for the dimension text.
  4. Press Enter to finish placing the linear dimension.

The linear command is commonly used for measuring and annotating horizontal and vertical distances between two points in a drawing.
