Insert Command in AutoCAD

The insert command in AutoCAD is used to place a block, drawing, or external reference (Xref) into the current drawing. This command helps to reuse previously created objects or external files, allowing you to quickly add elements to your drawing.

To use the insert command:

  1. Type INSERT in the command line.
  2. In the "Insert" dialog box, select the block or drawing file you want to insert.
  3. Specify the insertion point for the block or drawing by clicking on a location in the drawing area or entering coordinates.
  4. Set the scale factor and rotation angle for the inserted object if needed.
  5. Click OK or press Enter to place the object in the drawing.

The insert command is commonly used to bring blocks, external references, or even entire drawings into your current project to save time and maintain consistency.
